THE BASIC NUMEROLOGY CALCULATION
Numerology is based on deriving numbers from an individuals attributes - in particular their date of birth and their name.
To derive a number from their name the letters of the alphabet have to be assigned numbers which can then be used to calculate their name-numbers.
The following table shows the numbers assigned to the 26 letters of the English alphabet.

Since numerology has derived from the ancient languages there are certain letter combinations that need to be treated in a special manner, these are:-

| and are assigned the values of | 8 | 3 | 4 | 5 |
Personality Number and Character Number
A persons Character Number is derived by adding together the Birth Number, the Christian Name Number and the Surname Number.
The Personality Number is obtained by adding together the Christian Name Number and the Surname Number.
So, for Christopher John Thompson, born on 16 March 1954 the numbers are derived as follows:-
Birth Number for 16 March 1954 = 2

Surname Number = 7 See Calculation
Character Number = 2 + 3 + 7 = 12
Which reduced again gives 3
So the Character Number is 3
The Personality Number is 3 + 7 = 10
Which reduced gives 1
So Christopher Jonathon Thompson has a Character Number of 3 and a Personality Number of 1
In numerology, all numbers are reduced to the single digits 1 through 9 to get to the Primary Characteristics which represent the major vibration rates associated with people's characteristics.

A much quicker way of calculating the number is:-

| = | 2 |
And again by ignoring all occurences of 9 (except the last) we get:-

| = | 1 | + | 6 + 3 | + | 1 | + | 5 + 4 |
ignore the 6 and the 3 and the 5 and the 4
